They promote teaching about race and racism early on and provide resources and tools for engaging youth in conversations in order to model what it means to resist and disrupt oppression. This organization also has resources for talking to youth about topics like how to be an ally and co-conspirator and understanding consent. The Conscious kid also has a continually upgraded book list, suggesting age appropriate books written by and about people from many backgrounds, cultures and races. With the rise of screen time, social media and digital learning, This site will support teachers and their ability to help their students navigate the digital world. Their newest program is social emotional learning (SEL) focused when it comes to engagement online. This is supposed to promote positivity for youth as they use social media to express themselves and communicate with one another. They provide different resource pages for each age group: k-5, 6-8, & 9-12. Overall this a great tool for teachers trying to implement SEL in a way that their students can connect too. |

These lessons are organized preK-12 and are easily accessible by subject. There is a variety of lesson plans that include singular videos, or full year curriculum. This acts as a support to teachers creating plans for their classrooms, freeing up time for them to focus more on the parts of teaching they are experts in. The concept that created this organization is that teachers who have expertise in areas are able to share information they teach globally. Teachers around the world are able to share lessons with their students that come from a variety of minds and talents, expanding their education. |
