This non profit is the leader on providing evidence based care, educational opportunities for families and supporting educators in underserved communities. They also work to advocate for and bring awareness to the struggles and triumphs of youth facing these disorders. Child Mind Institute has three main domains. They provide care and treatment to youth struggling with mental health and learning disorders. They provide education to families and educators on mental health and learning disorders. And, they explore mental health and learning disorders through scientific research. The family resource center focuses on empowering families, caregivers and youth with knowledge on mental health. They provide programs for families struggling with homelessness, escaping domestic violence and seeking overall well being. Head Start has up to date resources on how families can begin to seek financial mobility, obtain health insurance and healthcare for their families and how to support their children's development from a young age. |
Big Future - College Board
https://bigfuture.collegeboard.org/ Big Future is a great resource for families supporting their teenagers getting into college. One section is dedicated to finding schools that would be a great fit for the student, and the second section is resources for affording colleges. They give information on financial aid, loans, grants and fellowships that will support families on keeping their costs low. They also provide tips for how to get into college, providing information on applications, essays, tests and interview prep. If a student is unsure of their career path, Big Future has a career finder page that will support students exploring their interests and skills and translating that into potential job ideas. |
